Flexible options... SUPER CLOSE UP
I really like this little digital microscope because it's self illuminated, and it has quite a few ways to use it.It's pretty easy to get started in the standard mode, just turn it on and it lights up and uses the default zoom. Then, just place it over whatever you want to look at and you get a decent image without needing to focus. That said, the object needs to be on a flat surface. If there's some depth to your object, you may need to lift it a bit off the surface to make sure it stays in focus. I would've preferred that you had some sort of screw support to raise the microscope a little bit at a time, but it's really not that hard to hold it still long enough to see whatever you needed to see.I also like the fact that you can plug it into a computer and it gives you an option to view the display in real time as a webcam. To do this select the "Computer Observation Mode" option after plugging in the cable. Then you can capture it using a program like QuickTime (on a Mac) or any program that can use a webcam. It also supports a MicroSD card, so you can capture images and copy them to your computer. I captured some images without using the card, and they were stored internally, but for some reason when you select the Card Reader mode, it doesn't seem to let you capture those images to your computer, or I would've posted the picture I took. So, it looks like if you want to copy images to your computer, you should either use the Webcam mode, or use a MicroSD.

Great for kids and adults
I wish I had a magnifying glass like this when I was a kid growing up! This pocket sized digital magnifying glass/microscope allows you to view objects up close, up to 500x magnification, in crisp detail on a 2" IPS color screen. Or on your PC/Mac screen when using computer mode. It's great for viewing insects, coins, stamps, rocks and minerals. The zoom is way more powerful than a smartphone in macro mode. This will come in very handy when I need to read tiny print clearly, like reading tiny serial numbers on the back of devices. There a 4 level of magnification available and the 8 LED lights provide up to 3 levels of illumination, allowing you to view objects even in dark conditions. Another nice feature is the built in storage for storing up to 100 photos. Photos stored on the onboard storage unfortunately cannot be transferred to a PC, tablet or smartphone. But there is a microSD slot which will allow you to take photos on a microSD card that can be transferred to other devices. The built in lithium rechargeable battery, charged via USB-C, give you up to 1.5 hours of viewing time on a single charge.

This is great, and way more useful than I expected
When I requested this I thought why would anyone want a digital magnifying glass when cell phones are so good at doing close-ups. Well this is way closer than my cell phone can get. And it's super light and convenient. And it can take pictures, and you can scroll through the pictures on the device, or save them to microSD card. It even has a real regular magnifying glass in the handle. This is not any good for reading tiny print on labels. It is way too close up for that. But for seeing details that are nearly invisible to the naked eye, this is awesome. Maybe don't take a look at your skin under this because oof it does not look good that close up :-OAnyway, I kind of expected to be disappointed by this, but I actually love it.

An Impressive Scope for Micro Exploration
I found this magnifying glass so much fun to use. I collect rocks, shells and other objects in nature. It was great to be able to look closer at items while collecting. I did see in the description that items needs to be flat for viewing, I found this to be true if I wanted to take a picture. It was wonderful to have the ability to take a picture and put it in my photos. If I just wanted to inspect a rock or feather, I could manipulate the magnifier so that I could observe the object.I enjoyed so much looking at different piles of sand to see find crystals and the smallest of shells, again hard to get a clear picture. The most useful thing I found that I was not expecting, I got a very fine splinter in my finger, I was able to located it and see the angle that I need to work on getting it out. I could not look at it and pull it out but it did help to see what I need to get it out.The other aspect of this is I wanted to use it to look at my wire wrapping jewelry that I make using items I find. The wrapping sometimes can get twisted and looking at it under a magnifying glass will be helpful to find where the twisting starts so that I can correct it.

Super cool and lot's of fun if you are the scientific or exploratory type
I'm overall quite pleased with this pocket sized electronic microscope. It's a decent quality build that old and young children alike will enjoy. If you are scientifically inclined like me and love looking at microscopic things to satisfy your curiosity, you will love this! What I like: Great small form factor. Easy to setup and use. I initially got started without even reading the manual. Does a pretty good job at magnifying and seems to be at the resolution it states. You can view pics on the device or you can use it to view on your PC which is very cool. What I didn't like: Buttons could be a little easier to press and maybe in a better spot. You tend to move the device by trying to press the buttons, but with a little learning you will get it. Device has memory to store pictures, but you can only view on the device and can't send to a PC, so recommend you install an SD card that is formatted immediately so you can save more pics and then transfer them to a PC. Really cool device and quite happy with this purchase. No doubt I'll be finding interesting reasons to use this for many years to come.

SUCH A COOL GADGET
This is the coolest microscope gadget I have ever seen! It’s very easy to use, and it's super fun seeing everything up close! Our toddlers love to explore with it and look at different things. The light makes it easy to capture images even in low-light settings. This is easy to operate too, even our 2-year-old can figure it out.
